The three story brick building was constructed in 1902 as one of a host of grocery stores in the downtown area. Acme offered a full line of staple and fancy goods and employed eight clerks to give the customers “polite attention” and full satisfaction.

The property was purchased and rehabbed in 1998 by Mike and Joni Hollen, and is now home to
Cu Restaurant and The Cellar Bar.

The paintings and murals that adorn the walls of Cu are the creation of local artist Paco Rosic, best known for his graffiti art, add to the ambiance of
Cu Restaurant.
